Glitch

Going through another glitch phase. However these were all done on photoshop. No idea why I chose barack Obama. Apparently, I have a crush on him. I'd like to take this style further and be able illustrate with it.

The Travelling Puppet Theatre Company Stationary

The second of the two stationary sets. I've got a hidden trick up my sleeve with this one that I can't show on this. Again, thoughts and criticisms are more than welcomed!



Also, I forgot how amazing this track is. Speakers loud, bass high and a brew. Beautiful.

Initial Logos

New week and a new brief. This week is logo design. I really enjoyed logo design in first year and am thoroughly enjoying it again this time round. Here are a few initial ideas I have come up with. They are in the first stage of development.

The logo below is for a company that builds high quality modular timber frame houses.

The Streets

The streets have just released a new album (computers and blues) I've listened to it through a few times and it's top quality. Mike Skinners on top form. I'll undoubtedly ruin this album for josh listening to it so much. Below is the video for going through hell. Check out the album.

Dignitas Euthanasia Clinic

This week we have been given a one week advertising brief. We had a series of options to choose from. I chose the launch of a new Dignitas clinic in Manchester. I initially started off with a lot of crude and humour based ideas. After a lot of thought I decided against it. Assisted suicide of terminally ill people for me isn't that funny. I tried to potrait the peace of mind when making this decision and take into consideration the family and friends of the person making this decision. I didn't want to convince people to kill themselves (well not these people anyway) I just wanted for them to be aware of the clinic. This is my solution. This brief has put me (as Mica finely put it) on a bit of a downer. I have found myself doing this work listening to Damien Rice, Bert Jansch and John Martyn slowly spiraling into depression. But, on the upside it's all over on thursday and this weekend promises to be a good one. Never thought I'd say such a cheesey line but... BRING ON THE WEEKEND! (urgh, I feel dirty)

John Candy along with Steve Martin are amongst some of my favourite ever comedic actors. This scene is probably one of my favourite comedy scenes of all time. I could watch this all day and it would still get the same response the 50th time as it would the first. Think I'm going to go on a mission around HMV and find all the old classics like Parenthood, The Man with Two Brains, Uncle Buck, Naked Gun etc.

Sadly we had to cancel this weeks friday image making. Mica and Sarah were unavailable and I was dying in bed from the man flu. But, we should be coming at you hard next week! Until then here is an experimental image I did on photoshop a while ago but completely forgot about.

Friday Fun Funs

Over a ten week period every friday me, Sarah and Mica are going to do take advantage of the facilities the uni has to offer and are going to do some experimental images. No meanings behind the images just pure image making. Doing uni and freelance work all day sat at a mac has turned us slowly and painfully into mac monkeys. We intend to do it as a sort of light relief. We will also try and get some guest appearances from other people in our class too! The first set of images will be made and posted up next friday so keep your eyes peeled.
